Mailroom Clerk I - Contract We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mailroom Clerk to support high-volume mail and document processing operations in a professional office environment. This role is responsible for operating mailing and printing equipment, preparing outgoing correspondence, maintaining mailroom supplies, tracking shipments, and assisting with general mail center activities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring mail is processed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities: Operate high-volume mailroom equipment, including printers, inserters, postage meters, folders, and related machinery. Process large volumes of outgoing mail accurately and within established timelines. Monitor equipment performance and perform basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Coordinate service requests with equipment vendors and maintenance providers when repairs are needed. Utilize mail processing, printing, and tracking software to manage daily production activities. Prepare and ship documents and packages using shipping software and weighing equipment. Maintain inventory of mailroom supplies and coordinate replenishment as needed. Communicate equipment status and operational issues to management and support teams. Work with internal technical support staff to resolve printer, network, and software-related issues. Assist with returned mail processing and other administrative support duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior mailroom, print production, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or equipment operation experience preferred but not required. Basic computer skills and ability to learn specialized software applications. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Ability to push loaded carts and move supplies throughout the facility. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting. Ability to work in an environment with continuous equipment noise and fluctuating temperatures.
Additional Information: Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background screening, in accordance with applicable laws and company policies. This position is fully on-site and requires regular attendance during standard business hours.
