Job Description: The North Rockland Central School District is seeking candidates for a Head Lifeguard position for the 2026-2027 school year. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Athletics.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age with two (2) seasons of adequate lifeguarding experience; andPossession of a current certification in American Red Cross (ARC) Basic Life Support for the Professional Rescuer CPR or equivalent certification as determined by the New York State Department of Health; andPossession of a current lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross or other recognized certifying agency acceptable to the New York State Department of Health. Other Requirements and Information: Civil service examination requirements have been waived for this position as part of the NY HELPS Local program. Candidates must only meet the minimum qualifications for consideration.
Salary and Benefits:
  • Salary and benefits are competitive with the public sector market including but not limited to the following:$31,896 (minimum) (as of 8/14/2026)
