About the role
Senior Development Engineer - Mechatronic Systems A growing engineering organization is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to support the development of advanced electromechanical products. This individual will play a key role in the design, integration, testing, and optimization of drive systems used in highly engineered applications. The position offers the opportunity to lead technical projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the development of innovative products from concept through commercialization.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development of electromechanical drive systems and related product technologies.
Evaluate and optimize system designs involving motors, gearing, motion control, and electronic controls.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop robust and manufacturable solutions.
Support system integration, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
Develop and execute verification and validation plans to ensure product performance and reliability.
Investigate technical issues and drive root cause analysis efforts.
Coordinate technical activities across projects while managing schedules, risks, and priorities.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams.
Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, documentation, and development standards.
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
- Experience developing electromechanical products involving motors, motion systems, controls, or related technologies.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical system integration.
- Experience with motor control, power electronics, automation, robotics, or control systems is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects and collaborate across engineering disciplines.
- Experience with product verification, validation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
