Job Description: School Psychologist
Job Title: School Psychologist Location: School-based site
Immediate Supervisor: Director of Special Education Work Schedule: 210-day contract Student Support Scale: Starting at $63,840.00
Special Requirements: None FLSA Status: Exempt Education/Experience Possess or be eligible to acquire appropriate license(s) and/or endorsement(s) for position as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and School Board Has knowledge of Special Education law, experience with creating plan of care for students Must have demonstrated the leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with pupils, teachers, and parents Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited college or university Job Goals Responsible for providing psychological services including assessment, consultation, and counseling to support the learning achievement of students. Performance Responsibilities Conducts extensive psychological evaluation of referred students Prepares written reports of evaluation findings of referred students Interprets diagnosis to school personnel, other concerned professionals, parents and students Makes recommendations on ways to assist referred students Attends eligibility committee meetings Attends scheduled staff meetings and committee meetings as needed Assumes responsibility for own professional growth and development: for keeping current with literature, new research findings, and improved techniques; and for attending appropriate professional meetings and conferences EvaluationPerformance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
