About the role

You know the problem. Recerts pile up, the MOR is next month, and the person who actually understands the layered LIHTC/HUD file just gave notice. Every compliance team in the country is short the same person. Percy is recruiting that person for a different kind of seat: the in-house compliance expert on a product team building affordable housing certification software from the ground up. The company is an AI platform already used by most of the largest apartment operators in the country. The affordable product is new, and you would be one of the people deciding how it reads the rules. This is not a compliance seat at an operator. It is the job of telling the software what the regulations mean, and catching it when it gets them wrong. What you'd doTranslate LIHTC, HUD (PBRA, HCV, PBV, 202/811) and USDA RD requirements into guidance engineers can build from — no coding, just clarity Review system-generated tenant income certifications and eligibility determinations line by line, flag the errors, and turn them into fixes Sit with compliance teams at large affordable operators to surface edge cases and shape what gets built next Grow into leading the human-in-the-loop review function as the product scales Who this fits You have personally calculated household income and built or reviewed certification files, TICs, annual recerts, interims, MOR prep, HCV or PBRA intake. That matters more here than any title Your title may say Property Manager, Occupancy Manager, Community Manager, Compliance Specialist, or Housing Specialist. If you've been the one person carrying a multi-program portfolio because nobody else could, we want to talkLIHTC depth is the floor. HUD program breadth is a strong plus; USDA RD a bonus Roughly 4+ years in affordable compliance, flexible in both directions for the right backgroundCOS, TCS, HCCP, SHCM, MORS or CPO preferred. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
