About the role
Student Weight Room Supervisor The Student Weight Room Supervisor is a vital member of the Strength and Conditioning team at Westminster College. This student worker position supports the daily operations of the weight room, ensuring a safe, clean, and athlete-focused training environment. The supervisor will collaborate directly with the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and serve as a point of contact for student-athletes using the facility during team and open lift hours.
Responsibilities:
Supervise the weight room to ensure a safe training environment during team lifts and open hours.
Help with set up and breakdown of the weight room.
Take accurate attendance for all team and individual lifting sessions.
Ensure that only authorized student-athletes and approved staff are using the facility.
Assist with daily cleaning and disinfecting equipment between team sessions.
Reorganize and reset the weight room at the end of each day (e.g., re-racking weights, wiping down surfaces, aligning equipment).Monitor athlete behavior and adherence to facility rules and safety protocols.
Assist with uploading training data and performance metrics (when applicable).Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to the Head Strength Coach promptly.
Provide general assistance and support to athletes as needed (spotting, equipment guidance).
Requirements:
- Ability to demonstrate responsibility, professionalism, and leadership.
- Basic understanding of weight room etiquette and equipment use.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 40+ pounds
- This position is open only to active, currently enrolled Westminster College students.
