Terms of Employment: • Contract Length: 3-month contract (Q4 peak season) • Location: Hybrid / Remote (DMV area preferred; local travel up to 70% in MD/DC/VA; sporadic out-of-state travel with expenses covered; training at Columbia or Canton, MD offices)
Overview: Work with a premier healthcare insurance provider supporting group clients during the critical Q4 open enrollment season. As a Temporary Account Manager / Open Enrollment Specialist, you will represent the organization by leading client-facing benefit presentations, engaging business owners, HR teams, brokers, and plan members to explain medical and ancillary benefit offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and present 10 to 15 open enrollment meetings per week across various market segments, ranging from mid-market groups (51+) to large national accounts.
  • Communicate complex benefit structures to group members, including fully insured vs. self-insured options, PPOs, HMOs, dental, vision, life, and disability plans.
  • Partner with employer HR departments, business owners, and insurance brokers to coordinate meeting logistics and present sold benefit packages clearly and effectively.
  • Conduct occasional full-day wellness events or on-site information sessions as requested by group clients.
  • Travel locally across the Maryland, DC, and Virginia regions to client sites, with occasional out-of-state travel for national group factory or office locations.
  • Complete initial product orientation and training (virtual or on-site in Columbia/Canton, MD) to get up to speed quickly on specific benefit packages.
Required Qualifications:
  • Current health and life license for the jurisdictions of Maryland, DC, and Virginia are required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in insurance account management, benefit enrollment, or group presentations.
  • In-depth knowledge of health insurance structures (PPO, HMO, self-insured, fully insured) and ancillary products (dental, vision, life, disability).
  • Proven ability to independently conduct end-to-end open enrollment presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Reliable personal transportation and willingness to travel up to 70% locally within the DMV region.
  • Resident of the DMV area or surrounding states (Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virginia).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working with similar major regional/national health insurance carriers.
  • Background in roles such as Account Dedicated Representative (ADR), Onboarding Manager, Implementation Manager, or Client Service Representative in group benefits.
  • Experience managing both small business owner dynamics and complex corporate HR structures.
