Senior Project Manager – Data Center Electrical Construction
Location: Charlotte, NC | Onsite | Full-Time
About the Opportunity: Reputable and well-established electrical contractor is seeking Senior Project Manager for large, complex data center and mission-critical projects. This is a client-facing leadership role reporting to senior operations leadership. You'll own projects from estimating through closeout, build strong relationships with customers and your team, and grow through hands-on project work, peer collaboration and ongoing technical training. What You'll Do: Lead data center and critical facility electrical projects from proposal through completion, meeting design, budget and schedule requirements Prepare estimates, review proposals, and set project scopes, budgets, timelines and resource plans Coordinate project staff, field teams and subcontractors Work with vendors so materials and equipment are bought and delivered on time Manage RFPs, change orders and the change management process Drive billing and collections to keep project cash flow healthy Forecast project finances and adjust course as needed to protect margins Visit job sites regularly to track progress and solve problems Help leadership plan future labor and material needs Give senior management regular project reports and updates Work with customers before, during and after construction to set expectations and meet them Mentor and develop project team members Promote a strong safety culture and follow company, client and project policies What You BringRequired: 10+ years of construction project management experience 5+ years of electrical project management on large, complex IT/telecom infrastructure projects, including data centers Hands-on experience with data center electrical distribution, cabling and white space fit-outs Experience with retrofits in live, operating facilities and coordinating across critical facility systems Strong computer skills and the ability to pick up new systems quickly Calm, organized and decisive under tight deadlines and outside pressure Strong scheduling, delegation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills Commitment to keep improving your communication, organization and leadership Must be authorized to work in the U.S. full-time without employer sponsorship. Visa sponsorship, including H-1B, is not available for this role.
Preferred: Mission-critical project experience Bachelor's degree in construction management, project management, engineering, business or a related field. A combination of experience, education and certifications, such as a journeyman or master electrician license, will also be considered.
