About the role

About the role: Launch Consulting is building a small team of Forward Deployed Engineers to embed with a national animal health technology and distribution company. The company has set savings targets across four business portfolios and built an AI Command Center to govern how ideas become working solutions. You will be the delivery engine inside that model. You will work directly with business leaders to size opportunities, build and pilot automation and AI tooling inside their existing systems, and prove the results. In the final phase you will hand the playbooks and tooling to the client’s own teams so the model keeps running after we leave.
What you will do:
  • Partner with business leaders across corporate functions, procurement, customer experience and operations to turn ideas into scoped, resourced initiatives.
  • Run rapid opportunity sizing, benchmarking and feasibility research so leaders can decide with real data.
  • Prototype, build and pilot automation and AI tooling inside each team’s own tools and workflows.
  • Ship with guardrails: human-in-the-loop review, controlled rollout and production monitoring.
  • Score opportunities on value, feasibility and risk, and work within a five-stage gate with risk-tiered approvals.
  • Verify realized impact and book it against savings targets in a shared tracker.
  • Document playbooks and tooling and transfer them to client teams.
  • What you will bring
  • A track record of shipping automation or LLM-based tooling into real production use.
  • Strong Python and/or TypeScript, API integration experience, and working SQL.Hands-on experience with LLM application patterns like retrieval, agents, tool use and evaluation.
  • The ability to explain technical work in business terms and estimate its financial impact.
  • Comfort moving between teams and priorities week to week.
  • US work authorization and the ability to pass a background check.
Nice to have: Consulting or forward deployed engineering experience. Exposure to distribution, procurement, customer service or finance operations. Experience with workflow and integration platforms, RPA, or enterprise ticketing and ITSM tools.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
