The Opportunity: As Account Executive, you are responsible for garnering media and influencer coverage for all client accounts to meet your projects’ KPIs. In this role, you’re consistently seeking out “top-tier” new outlets and contacts as well as fostering active media relationships. Part of your role will be to help develop new creative strategies by contributing to and helping execute on thought leadership. As an effective communicator, you’re able to communicate not only the opportunities, but also the strategy and our value and successes to the client. You are regularly in touch with media and our clients, and have your finger on the pulse of an ever-changing national PR and communications landscape.
What You’ll Do: Facilitate client coverage: Garner meaningful media and influencer coverage for all client accounts. Develop new strategies and execute thought leadership opportunities for clients. Showcase and foster media relationships: Showcase deep media relationships and continue to build on those for clients in the purview. Build new relationships: Consistently seek out new outlets, contacts, etc. that should be either top tier or in communication with. Team up on creative strategies: Work with the team to develop new creative strategies on a regular basis in order to land meaningful client coverage. Consistently craft compelling pitches. Communicate value and successes: Demonstrate a clear understanding of client goals and how to effectively communicate value to the client. Keep a finger on the pulse: Keep up on the latest trends in the media and PR/storytelling landscape. Expectations: Resiliency: You show curiosity and resourcefulness to solve issues and gain understanding. You ask questions to clarify issues and resolve confusion. You maintain an open mind in the face of ambiguity. Manage Work: You establish clear goals and objectives, effectively managing multiple projects and/or deadlines at a time. You meet and manage deadlines. You communicate to your manager and team on what needs to be done and communicate with clarity, especially in light of changes to workloads to expectations. You actively support change across the organization. Show Initiative: You demonstrate a bias toward action and an ownership mentality. You identify what needs to be done without prompting, and you’re able to generate original thoughts and ideas. Integrity: You do not cut corners. You remain consistent in terms of what you say and do and in terms of your behavior toward others. You earn the trust of coworkers and maintain confidence.
Your Experience: (Preferred) Bachelor's degree in relevant field required(Preferred) Minimum of 3 years of PR experience working and/or interning at an agency Ability to showcase specific strategic results you have driven for non-profits, foundations, and/or social and racial justice initiatives. Maintains close relationships with journalists in NYC, as well as in the national landscape.
