About the role

The President’s Postdoctoral Scholars Program (PPSP), supports highly-qualified postdocs training at Ohio State, who have a strong interest in pursuing academic (faculty) positions upon completion of their training. This program supports the scholarly efforts and training of terminal degree holders (PhD, MFA, and others), who wish to pursue careers in research and creative inquiry, and also provides professional development and networking opportunities. PPSP includes two years of salary support and full benefits provided by the Office of the President and the scholar’s faculty mentor and sponsor college. PPSP scholars receive dedicated funds each year to support research, creative expression, and professional development-related expenses. Postdocs are considered staff at Ohio State and as such have access to a full range of employee and medical benefits and services. Eligibility: US citizens, US permanent residents, and international scholars are all eligible to apply for this fellowship program. Candidates must have received terminal degree (e.g., EdD, MFA, PhD) no more than two years prior to nomination deadline (12/16/26). If the candidate is still in their doctoral/terminal degree training program, they must have received their degree before their proposed start date. Selected postdocs must be able to start their PPSP position between July 1, 2027 and January 3, 2028.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
