About the role
Electronic Medical Records Technician As an Electronic Medical Records Technician, you will be part of a team of HIM professionals dedicated to ensuring integrity, accessibility, and compliance of patient health records. This is an entry-level position within the Health Information Management department. Growth and development opportunities within the Health Information Management department. Location: ONSITE at Presbyterian Medical Center.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, rotating weekends and holidays. Support on-site HIM workflows within acute care HIM Departments. Provide customer service to callers/visitors to the HIM Departments as record pulling/ordering from offsite vendor. Perform discharge unit rounding, document assessment/prepping, and limited release of information to support continuum of care requests. Perform HIMSS7 workflow and discharge scanning as needed and may be assigned additional on-site HIM duties as necessary to maintain fluid departmental: High School Diploma or GED.1 or more years of experience in a hospital medical records department, or equivalent work experience with similar work assignments, roles, and responsibilities. Excellent analytical and customer service skills. Able to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation, competency testing, and standardized productivity metrics/goals. Able to multitask and work independently with limited supervision. Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements. Comfortable in a computer-based workflow, with working knowledge and/or familiarity with acute care medical records and hospital regulatory environment. Able to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed.
