Job Type: W2Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Equipment with strong mechatronics and manufacturing equipment experience to own equipment performance, reliability, production ramp-up, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on skills and experience supporting complex and first-of-its-kind manufacturing equipment.
Important Duties:
  • Own the performance, reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment.
  • Lead production ramp-up and manufacturing readiness for new and first-of-its-kind equipment.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, FAT, SAT, and design reviews from an equipment-owner perspective.
  • Analyze production data and downtime trends to identify equipment problems, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop clear problem statements, project scopes, and execution plans for equipment-related improvements.
  • Lead equipment improvement projects involving mechanical systems, tooling, fixturing, and station layout modifications.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and system-level equipment issues under production pressure.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment and production issues.
  • Optimize equipment parameters, station configuration, process flow, and equipment performance in collaboration with Production and Quality teams.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Design and improve tooling and fixtures to minimize downtime and improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Provide hands-on engineering and troubleshooting support on the manufacturing floor.
  • Establish equipment standards, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices to prevent repeat issues.
  • Collaborate with Equipment, Controls, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and Maintenance teams to drive execution.
  • Monitor OEE, downtime, cycle time, throughput, and other equipment-performance metrics. Equipment Experience:
  • Furnaces
  • Web handling equipment
  • Powder handling equipment
  • Industrial mixers
  • Resistance welders
  • Laminators
  • Automated manufacturing and assembly equipment
  • Mechanical tooling and fixturing systems Must-Have Skills:
  • 7+ years of applicable Manufacturing, Equipment, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
  • Experience owning equipment performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, FAT, SAT, and production ramp-up.
  • Experience leading equipment improvement, tooling, fixturing, or automation projects.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using OEE, downtime, cycle time, throughput, and other production metrics.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and project execution skills.
  • Ability to work hands-on in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
