About the role
JOB OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing electrical overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical power lines and cables, including poles, towers, and underground conduits.
Perform emergency repairs and restoration of power during outages.
Operate and maintain various tools and equipment, including bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other specialized line equipment.
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and circuit diagrams.
Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Inspect and test electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently and safely.
Perform duties in various weather conditions and be available for on‑call and emergency work as required.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
Train and mentor apprentice linemen as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of an accredited Journeyman Lineman apprenticeship program.
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an acceptable driving record.
Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Journeyman Lineman.
In‑depth knowledge of electrical theory, principles, and practices related to distribution and transmission systems.
Proficient in the operation of heavy equipment and specialized tools used in line work.
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb poles, and work in various weather conditions.
Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
