About the role

Senior Signal Integrity Engineer Santa Barbara, CA$220,000–$250,000 + bonus + equity We're seeking a Senior Signal Integrity Engineer to lead the design, modelling, and validation of high-speed optical interconnects for next-generation AI data centres. You'll own signal integrity across electrical and electro-optical channels, ensuring reliable performance across PCB, package, connector, and photonic interfaces while meeting demanding BER and high-speed performance targets.
Key Responsibilities: Lead signal integrity for high-speed links, including channel modelling, loss, crosstalk, jitter, and equalisation (FFE, DFE, CTLE).Define and optimise channel architectures across PCB, package, connectors, and photonic interfaces. Drive SI design reviews and collaborate with internal teams and external partners. Support electrical-to-optical interfaces, including driver, modulator, and receiver paths. Guide high-speed PCB design and lead lab validation using eye diagrams, BER, VNA, TDR, and oscilloscopes. Correlate simulation with measurement data and support photonic IC integration. Collaborate on FPGA-based evaluation platforms.
Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related field. Experience with signal integrity in 100–200G+ per-lane systems. Strong background in channel modelling, jitter analysis, and SI simulation. Hands-on experience with FFE, DFE, CTLE, BERTs, VNAs, and oscilloscopes. Solid understanding of high-speed PCB design and hardware integration.
