Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site Diesel Mechanic role based in Wheelersburg, OH. The Diesel Mechanic will perform routine and complex maintenance on diesel trucks and related heavy equipment, including inspections, diagnostics, and repairs. Day-to-day tasks include conducting preventive maintenance services, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, replacing and adjusting parts, and ensuring vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards. The role involves maintaining accurate service records, communicating equipment status to supervisors, and responding to urgent repair needs to reduce downtime. The Diesel Mechanic will work with tools, diagnostic equipment, and service manuals while following company policies and safety procedures.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance to ensure safe, reliable fleet performance. Candidates should possess solid Equipment Maintenance and Heavy Equipment skills to service, repair, and inspect trucks and related machinery. Candidates should possess core Diesel Mechanics skills, including diagnostics, repairs, and familiarity with diesel engines and drivetrains. Experience using diagnostic tools, service manuals, and electronic systems for troubleshooting is beneficial. Relevant technical training or certification in diesel technology or automotive/heavy equipment repair is preferred. Ability to lift and handle heavy components, work safely with tools and equipment, and follow all safety guidelines is required. Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are important. Valid driver’s license; a commercial driver’s license (CDL) or ability to obtain one is a plus.
