About the role

To support public-sector digital accessibility programs, the part-time Audio Description Specialist will produce Extended Audio Description for educational and informational video content, collaborating with the web accessibility team on WCAG 2.1 Level AA remediation engagements. Key responsibilities Write audio description scripts focusing on instructional content for recorded videos Produce Extended Audio Description to fill gaps in standard descriptions Record and edit audio description tracks to ensure broadcast-quality output Required qualifications Demonstrable audio description experience with a portfolio or work samples Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Success Criteria 1.2.3, 1.2.5, and 1.2.7 Familiarity with recognized description standards such as the DCMP Description Key Proficiency with audio editing software like Adobe Audition or Audacity Clear and well-paced recorded voice suitable for instructional content
