About the role
To support Medicaid rehabilitation programs, the full-time California Licensed PM&R Physician will provide senior-level clinical expertise, oversee medical necessity determinations, and engage with providers while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
Serve as the subject matter expert for Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, including rehabilitation services and functional restoration programs
Review complex authorization requests and conduct peer-to-peer consultations to support appropriate care decisions
Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to improve healthcare outcomes and ensure program compliance with Medicaid regulationsRequired qualificationsDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with an active, unrestricted U.S. medical license
Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California
Board Certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)
Minimum of 5+ years of post-residency clinical experience in rehabilitation medicine or related fields
Strong knowledge of rehabilitation services and experience with Medicaid programs and utilization management
