Data Center Operations Engineer We're recruiting on behalf of one of our data center operator clients. This is a direct-hire role on the client's operations team — not a position at Entangl.
The role: Keep a live, mission-critical data center running by operating and maintaining both the mechanical and electrical systems behind 24/7 uptime. Hands-on critical-facilities work, not a desk role. This role is with one of our client data center operators — not a position at Entangl.
Responsibilities: Operate and maintain mechanical systems: chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers, pumps, air handlers, and BMS controls Operate and maintain electrical distribution: UPS, switchgear, generators, ATS, PDUs, and breakers; perform switching operations Execute preventive and corrective maintenance to OEM and site standards Follow and complete MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs on live equipment Respond to alarms and incidents; participate in an on-call / shift rotation Maintain accurate logs, asset records, and CMMS entries Escort and oversee vendors during critical work What we're looking for 6+ years hands-on mechanical and/or electrical experience — data center or mission-critical facilities (utilities, semiconductor, healthcare, or military) preferred Solid grasp of critical power and cooling fundamentals Able to read one-line diagrams, schematics, and control drawings Comfortable running MOPs/SOPs/EOPs in a live environment Available for shift and on-call coverage Certifications a plus: NFPA 70E, OSHA, EPA, electrical license, or equivalent military technical training
Compensation: $100,000–$150,000, depending on location and experience.
Location: Ellendale, North Dakota; Dallas, Texas; Northern Virginia
