About the role
Overview GAMA-1 Technologies, LLC seeks a highly skilled System Administrator II to provide advanced technical expertise in the design, implementation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of complex IT systems in an on-site work environment. The candidate will support enterprise environments to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operations of systems and applications across multiple platforms and networks.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone Essential responsibilities Administer, configure, and optimize operating systems, virtual environments, and enterprise systems in compliance with federal IT and security standards Design, implement, and maintain scalable system architectures that ensure performance, reliability, and security Perform advanced system configuration, patch management, monitoring, and performance tuning Participate in major system upgrades, migrations, and implementation projects Develop and maintain detailed system documentation, configuration baselines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and testing Identify and resolve complex system issues; provide root cause analysis and implement corrective actions Collaborate with network, cloud, cybersecurity, and application teams to ensure integrated and secure operations Support compliance audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities Contribute to automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual workload Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice. Information Security and Confidentiality Obligations Ensure adherence to organizational information security policies and procedures; actively participate in mandatory security awareness training; and manage confidential and sensitive information in accordance with company protocols and data protection standards Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field 2-4 years of experience in system administration, cloud computing, IT infrastructure, or a similar technical role Demonstrated experience with Windows Server and/or Linux environments in an enterprise or federal setting Proficiency with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and system monitoring tools Hands-on experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid infrastructure operations Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.) Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues Working knowledge of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, and firewalls Preferred Qualifications Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or Microsoft/AWS Solutions Architect strongly preferred Knowledge of ITIL, Agile, or SAFe methodologies Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and present technical solutions effectively Work authorization/security clearance requirements Ability to obtain a security clearance Work environment Work is typically performed in an on-site work environment. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations and client facilities.Travel required No The employee is expected to demonstrate proficiency in all essential job functions, tools, and processes related to this position within the first 90 days of employment. This includes acquiring a thorough understanding of job-specific responsibilities, systems, and workflows as outlined during onboarding and training.
