Responsibilities: The Infection Preventionist -- LPN is responsible for the nursing center's Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) and functions as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator and facilitator for staff in multiple nursing centers focusing on Infection Prevention - Control Activities, Employee Health, Outbreak Management and Outcome - Process Surveillance, to include identifying, investigating, analyzing, controlling and reporting infections. *Ensure the quality of patient care as it relates to the investigation, control and prevention of infections and communicable diseases.*Integrate the Infection Control and Prevention program with the nursing centers' QAPI processes, is a member of the Center's QAPI committee, and regularly reports on the status on the IPCP.*Develop, implement and teach education programs in response to identified infection control needs identified through QAPI, rounding, center quality measures, or other means.*Support new hire orientation by providing infection prevention and control training for newly hired employees.*Review the immunization documentation for new hires to ensure regulatory compliance.*Oversee implementation and quality of the patient/resident influenza and pneumococcal vaccine.*Maintain infection prevention and control records per policy and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications: *Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current practical or vocational nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing is required.*Must complete specialized training in infection prevention and control within 90 days of hire.*A minimum of three years full-time or equivalent nursing experience is required and a minimum of two years of nursing experience in long-term care nursing with one year in a management/administrative or supervisory capacity is preferred.* Previous experience in infection prevention and control is preferred.*Ability to work flexible hours in order to meet with employees working evening and night shifts is required.*Must work at least part-time.

Posted Salary Range: USD $49.00 - USD $55.00 /Hr.
