Role Description: This is a part-time remote role for a Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing, including data entry, validation, and review to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. Day-to-day tasks include calculating wages, handling deductions, administering garnishments, and coordinating with payroll service providers as needed. The role also involves preparing and filing payroll tax reports, maintaining payroll records, and responding to employee inquiries regarding payments and deductions. The Payroll Specialist will collaborate with HR and finance teams to support audits, reconciliations, and process improvements.
Qualifications: Demonstrated skills in Payroll Processing and Payroll Administration. Experience handling Payroll Taxes and coordinating with Payroll Services. Knowledge of Garnishments and related legal and regulatory requirements. Proficiency with payroll software and spreadsheets, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Understanding of wage and hour laws and basic accounting principles. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage part-time remote workloads effectively. Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with team members and responding to employee questions. Previous experience in payroll or finance; relevant certification or associate/bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business is beneficial.
