Textile Specialist / Buyer / Purchasing Coordinator
Location: Geneva, AL (Onsite)Join a growing specialty manufacturing organization that produces highly engineered fabrics used in life-safety, protective equipment, military, industrial, and technical applications. This is a unique opportunity to become a key member of a small, highly collaborative leadership team where you will gain exposure to every aspect of the manufacturing operation.
Day-to-Day
Responsibilities: Manage purchasing activities for yarn and other raw materials Coordinate shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes Audit incoming materials and ensure inventory accuracy Support fabric transfers between facilities and subcontractors Maintain inventory records and perform cycle counts Enter costing information and support month-end close activities Work closely with quality, manufacturing, and production teams Learn textile manufacturing processes, fabric construction, and product applications Serve as a key resource for internal teams regarding fabric specifications and material requirements Support government contract requirements and material traceability
Required Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in textile manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain, inventory control, planning, or related functions Understanding of textiles, fabrics, yarns, specifications, or quality processes Strong Microsoft Excel skills Hands-on mindset and willingness to work on the plant floor Strong analytical and organizational skills Ability to work independently and make decisions
Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a Textile Technologist, Buyer, Planner, Purchaser, or similar role Knowledge of fabric construction and textile end-use applications Quality Control experience within a textile manufacturing environment Military or defense-related manufacturing experience
