About the role

About The Opportunity: A growing national organization serving the commercial building services and MEP industry is seeking an BuildOps Admin/SME to take functional ownership of its BuildOps platform across multiple operating companies. This is a highly collaborative, business-facing role focused on BuildOps administration, configuration, governance, process improvement, and user support. The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on BuildOps experience and be able to step into the environment with minimal ramp-up. You will work closely with operating company leaders, service and dispatch teams, accounting, IT/data teams, and the BuildOps vendor to ensure the platform is configured effectively, used consistently, and continuously improved.
Key Responsibilities:
  • BuildOps Administration & Governance
  • Serve as the primary functional BuildOps expert across multiple operating companies.
  • Manage configurations, workflows, permissions, processes, and system standards.
  • Troubleshoot issues and establish governance around requests, enhancements, and configuration changes.
  • Evaluate business needs and translate them into practical BuildOps solutions.
Business Process & Stakeholder Management: Partner with service, dispatch, operations, purchasing, inventory, project, and accounting teams. Identify opportunities to standardize workflows and establish enterprise best practices. Balance company-specific requirements with broader organizational standards. Gather requirements, document processes, and manage enhancement priorities. Serve as the bridge between operating companies, enterprise leadership, IT/data teams, and BuildOps.
Implementation & Continuous Improvement: Support BuildOps implementations for newly acquired or onboarded operating companies. Participate in discovery, configuration, UAT, training, and post-go-live stabilization. Develop repeatable implementation processes, checklists, and best practices. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reporting, system utilization, and user adoption.
Reporting & Integrations: Help establish consistent reporting standards and business definitions within BuildOps. Validate reports and dashboards against business requirements. Partner with IT, data, accounting, and integration teams on system dependencies and data flows.
Qualifications: Hands-on experience administering, configuring, or owning BuildOps. Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up time.5+ years of experience in business systems, field service operations, implementation, process improvement, or enterprise applications. Strong understanding of BuildOps and the operational processes it supports. Experience with service operations, dispatch, work orders, purchasing, inventory, projects, agreements, and/or accounting-related workflows. Strong requirements gathering, process improvement, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
