About the role

The Human Resources Coordinator will provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department by serving as a key point of contact for colleagues. This is an entry-level HR opportunity for someone who is highly organized, approachable, detail-oriented, and interested in building a career in Human Resources within luxury hospitality. This position will provide hands-on support across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, employee engagement, and general HR administration. The role will work closely with the Food & Beverage and Spa teams. This position requires strong organization, discretion and communication skills to handle the priorities of the day-to-day operation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Recruitment & Onboarding Support recruitment for hourly and management positions, including job postings, interview scheduling, and offer coordination. Coordinate pre-employment requirements and new-hire documentation. Support and participate in new-hire orientation and onboarding. Maintain accurate employee information within HR and payroll systems. Employee Relations & Engagement Serve as an approachable first point of contact for employees with general HR questions. Support employee recognition, engagement activities, celebrations, and other culture initiatives. Handle employee and company information with professionalism and confidentiality. Maintain inventory of colleague uniforms and place uniform orders as necessary. Maintain locker rooms by monitoring supplies and ordering as necessary. HR Administration Maintain employee personnel files and required documentation. Process employee changes including promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and separations. Track attendance, leaves, required certifications, training, and other employee documentation. Prepare HR reports and assist with maintaining accurate employee data. Compliance Support compliance with company policies and applicable New York City, New York State, and federal employment requirements. Assist with workers’ compensation, leave administration, workplace safety, and related HR processes. Help ensure required workplace notices and documentation remain current. Operational Partnership Develop strong working relationships with restaurant leadership and team members. Support HR needs across various food & beverage outlets and the spa. Work effectively within a luxury hospitality environment where professionalism, discretion, service, and attention to detail are essential.
QUALIFICATIONS: Human Resources, recruiting, administrative, or related experience in a luxury hotel environment, restaurant, or similar hospitality setting preferred. Positive, engaging, and energetic personality. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Able to be organized, manage time wisely, to work independently and with a team. Sensitive to cultural nuances and able to maintain a high level of discretion. Professional, approachable, and comfortable interacting with employees at all levels. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal in English; Multi-lingual is a plus. Able to handle a multitude of tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies. Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and web platforms. Genuine interest in developing a career in Human Resources and hospitality.
