Job Title: Production Manager
Location: McGregor, Texas
The Opportunity: We are recruiting a Production Manager on behalf of a leading provider of specialized infrastructure and custom-engineered equipment for diverse industries. This individual leads the entire manufacturing operation at the McGregor, TX facility, driving execution, performance, and strategic alignment with business objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing production schedules, managing department budgets, developing leadership within the supervisory team, and optimizing plant operations for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities: Manage and mentor a team of production supervisors, leads, and floor personnel across multiple shifts. Set performance goals and monitor execution against KPIs for production efficiency, safety, and quality. Drive workforce planning, including hiring strategies, succession planning, and cross-training programs. Oversee daily production activities, long-term capacity planning, production schedules, resource allocation, and material flow across departments. Ensure timely delivery of fabricated components and final assemblies according to customer specifications. Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to manage supply chain and mitigate disruptions. Implement systems to track labor productivity, downtime, and throughput metrics. Work closely with Project Managers to align fabrication timelines and partner with Engineering to resolve design and production challenges. Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts across the shop floor to identify and remove bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve process efficiency. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as ASME, API, and other relevant standards.
Qualifications: 5+ years of leadership experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Extensive knowledge of fabrication and welding practices, pressure vessel manufacturing, and industrial production workflows. Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to manage large teams across shifts. Proficiency in production planning, capacity analysis, and resource management. Computer proficiency including production management software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools. Experience with ASME code shop operations, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ERP/MRP systems, and bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) are preferred. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
