About the role
Program Oversight Director📍 California-based | Contract / Independent Contractor We're seeking a Program Oversight Director to serve as the primary point of contact on a State of California contract oversight engagement supporting a major public program. This is a senior, client-facing oversight role — not a project management or operations position.
What you'll do:
Lead executive-level oversight briefings and represent the engagement to the client Coordinate deliverable validation, financial oversight, and reporting across multiple vendor partners Serve as the escalation point for contractual risk and compliance issues Attend advisory committee and joint committee meetings in person
What you'll need:
5+ years of experience in program, contract, or operational oversight for government, multi-vendor, or regulated environments Proven experience tracking deliverables, identifying issues, and producing executive-level written findings Experience serving as a primary point of contact to executives, governance bodies, or regulators Must be based in California and available to work on-site/in-person for required meetings Experience with accessibility programs, disability-focused telecom, or public benefit programs is a strong plus Interested?
