About the role
- I’m looking for a smart, highly organized, and resourceful Part-Time Personal Assistant to help me manage the many moving pieces of a busy personal and professional life.
- This is a unique opportunity for someone who genuinely loves getting things done, creating order, solving problems, and making life run more efficiently.
- You’ll work directly with an entrepreneur approximately 12 hours per week, ideally across two consistent weekdays, primarily in person in Rockville Centre.
- No two days will look exactly the same. You might spend part of the day organizing expenses or researching something online, then make a few returns, coordinate an appointment, organize a space in the house, or figure out how to solve something that’s been sitting on my to-do list for three weeks.
- This is not a childcare, caregiving, or housekeeping position.
- What You’ll Help With
- Responsibilities will vary, but may include:
- Managing returns, shipments, pickups, and local errands
- Sorting and organizing mail, packages, receipts, and paperwork
- Organizing personal expenses and maintaining simple spreadsheets
- Researching products, services, vendors, travel, gifts, restaurants, etc.
- Scheduling appointments, reservations, deliveries, and services
- Placing orders and tracking purchases and deliveries
- Organizing closets, storage areas, household items, and other spaces
- Coordinating with household vendors and service providers
- Helping manage personal projects, gifting, travel, and events
- Light computer and administrative work
- Creating simple systems that make recurring tasks easier
- Keeping track of loose ends and following through until they’re complete
- Generally helping make a very busy life feel significantly more organized
- Who I’m Looking ForPrevious personal assistant experience is not required.
- I’m much more interested in finding someone who is naturally organized, capable, trustworthy, and resourceful.
- You’re probably a great fit if you:
- Are the person your friends rely on to figure things out
- Are extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Love a good checklist and genuinely enjoy getting things accomplished
- Learn quickly and are comfortable figuring things out independently
- Have strong common sense and judgment
- Are proactive rather than waiting for step-by-step instructions
- Are comfortable with technology, Google Docs/Sheets, email, online research, etc.
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Are equally willing to work on a spreadsheet and make a UPS run
- Are dependable and take commitments seriously
- Understand the importance of privacy and discretion
- College Students & Recent Graduates
- College juniors/seniors and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- This could be an especially good fit for someone interested in entrepreneurship, business, operations, communications, or eventually becoming an Executive Assistant or Chief of Staff.
- You’ll work directly alongside an entrepreneur and get a behind-the-scenes look at how a growing business and busy life are managed—while developing the kind of organization, resourcefulness, communication, and problem-solving skills that translate into almost any career.
- There is also potential for the role and responsibilities to grow over time for the right person.
- Schedule & Compensation
- Approximately 12-20 hours per week
- Ideally three consistent weekdays
- Primarily in person in Rockville Centre, NY$25–$30/hour, depending on experience
- Potential for additional hours over time
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required, as local errands will occasionally be part of the role
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
