About the role
A growing international organization is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Claims Assistant to support its legal and claims functions. This position is ideal for someone with experience working in a legal department, law firm, litigation support, insurance defense, or legal claims environment who is comfortable handling documentation, case files, correspondence, and sensitive information. This is a legal-focused claims position. Candidates with experience specifically in medical billing, healthcare claims, or medical insurance claims without accompanying legal experience will not be the primary target for this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and case-management support for legal claims and active matters. Maintain organized claim files, legal documentation, correspondence, and supporting records. Assist with gathering and reviewing documentation related to claims, disputes, and potential litigation. Track deadlines, case activity, claim status, and required follow-up. Draft and prepare correspondence, reports, summaries, and other legal or claims-related documentation. Communicate professionally with attorneys, internal departments, insurance representatives, claimants, and other outside parties. Assist with document requests, investigations, settlements, and litigation-related matters as needed. Maintain accurate records within internal claims and case-management systems. Handle confidential and sensitive legal information with a high level of discretion. Provide general administrative support to attorneys and legal/claims professionals.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a legal, litigation, insurance defense, corporate legal, or legal claims environment strongly preferred. Experience as a Legal Assistant, Litigation Assistant, Claims Assistant, Paralegal Assistant, Legal Administrative Assistant, or similar position is highly relevant. Understanding of legal terminology, legal documentation, claims procedures, and/or litigation processes. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files, deadlines, and priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with legal, claims, or document-management systems is preferred.
