Position Summary: The Commercial Account Manager for South Jersey Gas is responsible for growing commercial customer conversions through proactive sales outreach, contractor engagement, and community involvement. This field-based role focuses on converting businesses to natural gas and supporting customers through the conversion journey.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Execute targeted sales strategies to convert on-main Commercial prospects to natural gas service. Identify commercial conversion opportunities using GIS and follow up with targeted cold calling to generate leads. Provide clear guidance to customers on the conversion process and expected timelines. Develop partnerships with contractors, realtors and trade professionals to build a strong referral network. Collaborate with internal teams, such as Marketing, Design, Permitting, Utility, Street, Construction and Engineering, to ensure a seamless customer experience Track all customer and sales activity using Salesforce and maintain accurate documentation. Promote energy efficiency program benefits during the onboarding process. Participate in sales trainings, team meetings, and community engagement events, including Town Halls and Chamber of Commerce functions. Work in the field, including site visits in varying environmental conditions. QualificationsRequired Background: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. College education or degree is desirable. Minimum of 3 years sales experience, in successful direct sales in a commissioned environment Demonstrated experience in managing projects, relationships, and processes. Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM systems and Microsoft Office. Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Strong initiative, problem-solving capabilities, and ability to work independently.
