Crane & Hoist Service Technicians We're hiring Crane & Hoist Service Technicians Technicians. Pay is $26.00 - $50.00+/hour for full-time positions. Location is Hillsboro, Oregon Service Area. Technicians who live within approximately 30 miles of Hillsboro, Oregon will be considered locally assigned technicians supporting customers throughout the Hillsboro service area. This is a field-based position, so technicians are primarily dispatched from their local area or home rather than reporting to an ACECO branch each day. Candidates who live outside the 30-mile Hillsboro service radius may still be considered; however, those positions will be classified as travel-based field service roles and will require a greater level of travel based on customer locations, project schedules, and business needs. Travel expectations are based on where you are located. Hillsboro-area field service technicians (within approximately 30 miles): Your primary responsibility will be supporting local and regional customers within the Hillsboro service area. Periodic overnight or extended travel outside the territory will still be required when customer or business needs require additional field support. Depending on workload and project demands, travel assignments may total up to approximately 3 months within a 12-month period. Travel-based field service technicians (outside the 30-mile Hillsboro radius): This is a travel-based field service position. Technicians should expect to travel regularly to customer locations and project sites based on business needs rather than being assigned primarily to the Hillsboro local service territory. Travel may include multi-day or extended assignments and will vary throughout the year based on customer demand, outages, installations, and project schedules. ACECO covers approved business travel expenses in accordance with company policy, including applicable lodging, airfare, rental vehicles, and other approved expenses. Local Service Technicians may volunteer to participate in the on-call rotation to support urgent customer needs. On-call participation is voluntary and compensated in accordance with company policy. Two Paths One Team. We are hiring Crane & Hoist Service Technicians at two experience levels. The difference between the Developing and Experienced Technician paths is where you begin technically and what ACECO invests in helping you reach the next level. Developing Technician: $26.00 $38.00/hour. Compensation & Premium Pay Both Levels. Developing Technician: $26.00 $38.00/hour. Experienced Technician: $33.00 $50.00+/hour. Overtime after 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week Saturday = 1.5x base hourly rate Sunday = 2x base hourly rate 10 recognized holidays = 2x base hourly rate +$3/hour qualifying overnight travel premium, subject to applicable OT and double-time multipliers +$2/hour qualifying off-shift premium, subject to applicable OT and double-time multipliers +$2/hour flat premium for onsite nuclear work $70/day per diem for qualifying overnight travel Paid travel time in accordance with company policy Build Your Career in Crane & Hoist Service. Starting compensation is based on relevant industrial experience, electrical and mechanical capabilities, and demonstrated technical ability.
What You'll Learn:
Inspect overhead cranes and hoists frequent and periodic inspections Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on crane and hoist systems Troubleshoot industrial electrical and mechanical systems Work with 480 VAC / three-phase equipment Read and interpret electrical schematics Troubleshoot motors, brakes, contactors, VFDs, and controls Diagnose mechanical crane and hoist problems Complete professional inspection and service documentation Communicate equipment deficiencies and repair recommendations to customers As your skills develop, you'll progress toward independently performing inspections, troubleshooting equipment, completing repairs, and managing customer service assignments. We're looking for candidates with strong electrical and/or mechanical aptitude, safe work habits, troubleshooting ability, a willingness to learn, and professional communication skills.
