Projects may include MMIS modernization, Integrated Eligibility Systems, Provider Management, Claims Processing, Pharmacy, Data & Analytics, Enterprise PMO, and other large-scale digital transformation initiatives.Our Project Managers serve as trusted advisors to executive leadership while coordinating complex technology implementations involving state agencies, vendors, business stakeholders, and technical delivery teams.Responsibilities:Leading large Medicaid or HHS modernization initiatives from planning through implementationManaging project scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, assumptions, and dependenciesDeveloping and maintaining integrated project plansFacilitating executive steering committees and governance meetingsCoordinating activities across business, technical, vendor, and client organizationsManaging multiple workstreams simultaneouslyDriving project accountability across cross-functional teamsMonitoring project health using KPIs, milestones, and performance metricsPreparing executive-level presentations, dashboards, and status reportsManaging RAID logs and ensuring timely issue resolutionSupporting procurement, contract management, and vendor coordination activitiesEnsuring compliance with state, federal, and CMS requirements where applicableSupporting organizational change management and implementation readinessIdentifying opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve project execution and delivery efficiencyRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience8+ years of Project Management experience leading complex technology initiatives5+ years supporting Medicaid, Health & Human Services, or other government technology programsDemonstrated experience managing projects exceeding $5M in value and involving multiple stakeholder groupsStrong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery modelsExperience leading geographically distributed project teamsExcellent executive communication and presentation skillsExperience facilitating workshops, governance meetings, and executive briefingsStrong risk management and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to balance strategic planning with day-to-day project executionPreferred Qualifications:Experience supporting one or more of the following:Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES)Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS)Integrated Eligibility Systems / SNAP / TANFChild WelfareChild SupportBehavioral HealthPublic HealthPharmacy Benefit Management (PBM)Care Management / Prior AuthorizationEnterprise Data Warehouse / Data ModernizationCloud MigrationSystem IntegrationEnterprise PMODesired Skills:Candidates with experience in the following areas are highly desired:Program governanceExecutive stakeholder managementStrategic planningPortfolio managementBudget managementVendor managementContract oversightRisk and issue managementOrganizational change managementBusiness process improvementRequirements managementQuality managementCMS certification supportAI-enabled project managementAzure DevOpsCertifications:Preferred certifications include:PMP (Project Management Professional)PMI-ACPPgMPScrum Master (CSM or equivalent)SAFe AgilistProsci Change ManagementITIL FoundationWhat Makes Someone Successful at S2Tech?:Our most successful Project Managers:Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholdersTake ownership and drive projects forward with minimal oversightAnticipate risks before they become issuesCommunicate clearly with both business and technical audiencesThrive in fast-paced consulting environmentsBring a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindsetLeverage emerging technologies, including AI, to improve delivery quality and team productivityWhy Join Our Talent Network?:By joining S2Tech's Project Management pipeline, you'll be considered for future opportunities supporting some of the nation's largest Medicaid and Health & Human Services modernization programs.
