Director of Investments – Multifamily Sourcing
The Opportunity: A leading institutional real estate investment platform is seeking a Director of Investments to drive multifamily deal origination across the Sunbelt and Northeast. The platform is exceptionally well capitalized, with significant available equity and consistent acquisition and disposition volume. This is a true sourcing role for an established multifamily investment professional who wants to remain in the market building relationships and generating transactions. It is not an underwriting, due diligence or internally focused portfolio-management position.
Responsibilities:
  • Originate market-rate multifamily acquisition opportunities across the Sunbelt and Northeast
  • Build and maintain relationships with owners, brokers, developers and operating partners
  • Develop a consistent pipeline of actionable on-market and off-market opportunities
  • Serve as the senior relationship lead throughout the sourcing process
  • Collaborate with internal underwriting, due diligence, capital markets and transaction teams
  • Present investment opportunities and market intelligence to senior leadership
  • Represent the platform at industry events and throughout the multifamily investment community
  • Travel frequently across the assigned markets
  • Provide direction and support to analysts assisting with investment evaluation
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of real estate investment or acquisitions experience
  • Substantial experience personally sourcing market-rate multifamily acquisitions
  • Demonstrated transaction volume and a clear track record of originated deals
  • Established relationships within the Sunbelt or Northeast multifamily markets
  • Experience investing across Class A, B and C conventional multifamily assets
  • Strong understanding of regional market dynamics, valuation and investment strategy
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating with a sophisticated institutional team
  • Highly relationship-driven, entrepreneurial and motivated by generating new business
Experience limited primarily to affordable housing, student housing, senior housing, underwriting or due diligence will not align with this position. Location and Travel Candidates may be based in New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago or another major market within the Sunbelt or Northeast. Frequent travel is required.
