WHAT WE'RE SEEKINGThe Public Relations Manager drives buzz-worthy moments and earned media coverage for Topgolf, serving as a public voice of the brand and highlighting our company's role This role will have high visibility across the company and advise senior leaders on external communications efforts. WHAT YOU WILL DOKey ResponsibilitiesFoster relationships with relevant media contacts, building a mutually beneficial relationshipPrepare leaders across the company for interviews with the media, compiling briefing documents and rehearsing as neededServe as a subject matter expert for best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and styleConduct media outreach on everything from seasonal promotions to major PR initiatives, in partnership with our PR agencyOwn the press release process, from writing and coordinating approvals to distributing and reportingMedia train fellow team members across the company as needed in preparation for interviewsProvide external messaging guidance and creation for any needs that arise companywideLead our crisis communications strategy by drafting messages, monitoring and reporting coverage, and assisting with onsite media as requiredCORE COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSStrategic & Systems ThinkingConnects communications efforts to brand reputation, business priorities, and crisis readiness.Leads crisis communications strategy by drafting messages, monitoring and reporting coverage, and assisting with onsite media as required.Conducts media outreach on everything from seasonal promotions to major PR initiatives, in partnership with our PR agency.Analytical Rigor & CreativityBlends sharp editorial judgment with creative, audience-savvy messaging.Serves as a subject matter expert for best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style.Applies creative and critical thinking to develop global communications strategies across multiple audience segments.Governance & JudgmentExercises discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive information and official company communications.Handles confidential information with discretion.Owns the press release process end-to-end, from writing and coordinating approvals to distribution and reporting.Stakeholder PartnershipBuilds trust with media contacts and company leaders; prepares spokespeople to represent the brand with confidence.Fosters relationships with relevant media contacts, building mutually beneficial partnerships.Prepares leaders and media trains fellow Playmakers across the company, compiling briefing documents and rehearsing as needed.Execution ExcellenceManages multiple projects, deadlines, and messaging needs with precision in a fast-moving environment. Manages multiple projects and competing deadlines with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Provides external messaging guidance and creation for any needs that arise companywide. QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's and/or Master's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred5+ years in a corporate or agency role where external communications/media relations was the main focus, requiredMust be able to handle confidential information with discretionExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines at onceSuperb knowledge of AP writing style and its applicationEffective time-management skills and the ability to work both in a team-oriented environment and independently with little direct supervisionCreative and critical thinking to develop global communications strategies across multiple audience segmentsExceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skillsSelf-motivated, self-starterAbility to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organizationConfidence and comfort collaborating with team members at all levels of the organization and advising on communications strategies and plansProven ability to think outside the box when it comes to external communications strategiesAbility to master our company's approachable tone in writingPreferred SkillsA roster of media contacts already intact is a huge plusExperience managing budgets is an assetSounds like a fit?We can't wait to meet you!
