Qualifications and Desired Experience: Valid state certification in Special Education Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters preferred) Previous classroom or instructional experience with students receiving special education services Proficient in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment Adaptability and patience in responding to diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver customized lessons aligned with IEP goals
- Assess, monitor, and document student progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, service providers, and families
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and district regulations
- Advocate for students while ensuring educational best practices are in place
- Create classroom environments that encourage participation and growth
- Use adaptive technology and other resources to maximize student learning
- Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings
