About the role

High Desert Fordis seeking an experienced Automotive Sales Manager to lead our Sales Department in Victorville. The Sales Manager is responsible for the day-to-day performance of the Sales Department, including leading and developing Sales Consultants, managing customer opportunities, desking and structuring vehicle transactions, monitoring inventory, and supporting departmental objectives for sales volume, gross profit, and customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on leadership position that works closely with the General Sales Manager, Finance Department, and dealership leadership to maintain an efficient, compliant, customer-focused sales operation.
Key Responsibilities: Lead, coach, train, and develop Sales Consultants. Establish expectations and maintain accountability for individual and department performance. Manage daily sales-floor operations, staffing, schedules, customer traffic, appointments, and deal flow. Desk and structure new and pre-owned vehicle transactions. Assist Sales Consultants with negotiations, closing, and customer concerns. Monitor sales volume, gross profit, closing ratios, and departmental performance. Manage CRM activity, customer follow-up, appointments, and unsold opportunities. Monitor new and used vehicle inventory, aging, availability, and merchandising needs. Assist with inventory and vehicle appraisal decisions as assigned. Coordinate effectively with Finance & Insurance throughout the sales and delivery process. Monitor CIT, pending transactions, missing documentation, and deals requiring follow-up. Support recruiting, onboarding, training, development, and performance management of Sales Department employees in coordination with Human Resources. Maintain and promote strong customer satisfaction performance. Maintain knowledge of Ford programs, products, incentives, dealership policies, and sales processes. Complete required manufacturer and dealership training. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. This expands the responsibilities in the existing posting - department management, hiring and development, inventory, scheduling, desking, CIT, and pending deals - without changing the core function of the role.
