We are seeking adjunct faculty to help deliver courses in the Computer Science Bachelor's — Artificial Intelligence Concentration. The program curriculum focuses on the skills to design, develop, and implement AI solutions. Faculty should possess knowledge and experience in topics such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and Human-AI interaction. Faculty in this program will develop and teach curriculum to educate students on the design, development, and implementation of software-based artificial intelligence solutions for the business, entertainment, and consumer markets. This position is part-time working no more than 20 hours per week, on-campus OR online, and must be a resident in the state of Florida.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Create an environment of learning through effective teaching skills, maintain student-centered focus, and stay current with relevant industry standards. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and encourage active learning. Perform lectures for campus courses, and hold scheduled virtual course meetings for online courses. Teaching will be conducted through on-campus and online delivery. Interact positively with diverse student populations; provide all students with equal opportunities for learning. Demonstrate a commitment to the industry, maintain knowledge and skill relevancy through continuing education as defined in the faculty development plan.

  • Education and/or Experience:
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of four (4) years related and verifiable work experience and are required to hold a Master's (preferred) or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: N/ASkills: Strong working knowledge of software-based development, problem solving, principles, and applications. Experience as a software developer, software engineer, programmer, etc. Experience implementing AI in software preferred Strong working knowledge of object-oriented design, and data structures and algorithms preferredExperience in Agile software development preferredExperience developing for multiple platforms preferred Teaching or mentoring experience preferred Proficiency using software programs such as MS Word, Excel, Keynote/PowerPoint and Outlook Proficiency with programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, or Python preferred Familiarity with integrated development environments like Visual Studio or the Anaconda suite preferred
Environmental Factors/Physical Demands: Work is performed in an office and classroom environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active student and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system.
