Under general supervision, performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures with radioisotope and radiation detection methods. Executes basic clinical competence in nuclear medicine technology. Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications in order to perform patient imaging procedures using nuclear medicine instrumentation. Processes data and enhances digital images using advanced computer technology. Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation. Selects accurate technical factors and appropriateness on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient. Applies knowledge of nuclear medicine principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation safety and physics, quality assurance, positioning and patient care skills. Ensures safety and security in the storage and delivery of radiopharmaceuticals. Adheres to Joint Commission, State, Federal and departmental regulatory compliance standards. Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems. Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment. Maintains supplies and inventory in area. Informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors. Documents and reports related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy. Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality. Actively participates in student and employee training and educational activities Work Experience Nuclear medicine Certification-- CNMT or ARRT. BLS certification. xevrcyc Experience: 1+ years.
