Commercial Plumbing Estimator
Location: Western Chicago Suburbs, IL (On-site)
Compensation: Competitive Base Salary + Performance Bonus
About the Opportunity:
Forge Strategies is partnered with a well-established contractor in the western Chicago suburbs that is seeking an experienced Commercial Plumbing Estimator to join its growing team. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in commercial plumbing construction who enjoys estimating complex projects, developing competitive bids, and collaborating with project management and operations teams. Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed estimates for commercial plumbing construction projects.
Review blueprints, specifications, drawings, and project documents to determine scope.
Perform material takeoffs, labor calculations, and equipment pricing.
Develop competitive bids, budgets, and proposals.
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
Identify potential scope gaps, cost-saving opportunities, and project risks.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and internal teams.
Participate in bid reviews and project turnover meetings.
Maintain accurate estimating documentation and pricing.
Qualifications:
Experience estimating commercial plumbing construction projects.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical/plumbing drawings and specifications.
Experience with estimating software such as Trimble AutoBid, QuickPen, or similar programs.
Strong knowledge of plumbing materials, labor costs, and installation methods.
Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
Experience with large commercial, industrial, healthcare, or mission-critical projects is a plus.
Mechanical piping estimating experience is a plus.
