About the role
Dietary Cook Position We are seeking a skilled Dietary Cook to join our team in Ste Genevieve. As a Dietary Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for our long-term care facility residents. Your main goal will be to ensure that our residents receive high-quality and nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs. You will work closely with our Dietitian to ensure that all meals are prepared in accordance with diet therapy guidelines. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen
- Knowledge of quantity and quality cooking techniques
- Ability to read, write, and understand instructions
- Flexible schedule to accommodate meal preparation and service times
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in food safety and sanitation
- Experience working in a long-term care facility
- Experience with therapeutic diets
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals for long-term care facility residents
- Ensure that all meals meet dietary needs and diet therapy guidelines
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment
- Collaborate with Dietitian to plan menus and ensure that meals are nutritionally balanced
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
Skills:
As a Dietary Cook, you will use your skills in sanitation, quantity and quality cooking, and diet therapy to prepare and cook meals that meet the dietary needs of our long-term care facility residents. You will work as part of a team to ensure that all meals are prepared and served on time. Additionally, you will seek out new methods and principles to improve the quality of our meals and ensure that our residents are satisfied with their dining experience.
