Company Description:
Metropolitan Air Technology (MAT) is a U.S.-based leader in air control solutions for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical environments, with more than 30 years of experience. The company designs and manufactures remotely operated, airfoil, blast-rated, pressure relief, and volume control dampers, as well as comfort control systems and standard SKUs. All products are engineered and made in the USA for reliable performance, durability, and efficient installation. MAT’s ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturing reflects a strong commitment to quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
Role Description:
The OEM Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Chicago, IL, responsible for growing and managing sales to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). This role focuses on identifying new OEM opportunities, nurturing existing accounts, and promoting MAT’s air control solutions to meet customer design and performance requirements. Daily responsibilities include prospecting and qualifying leads, preparing proposals and quotations, negotiating pricing and terms, and coordinating closely with engineering and operations to ensure accurate specifications and timely delivery. The OEM Sales Manager will regularly conduct product presentations, provide technical guidance, monitor market trends, and maintain a structured CRM pipeline and reporting. The role also involves attending industry events as needed, supporting strategic sales initiatives, and contributing feedback to inform product development and improvements.
Qualifications:
Strong OEM and B2B sales skills, including lead generation, account management, and contract negotiation. Technical aptitude in HVAC, mechanical systems, or industrial equipment, with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications. Experience building and maintaining long-term customer relationships, with a consultative and solutions-focused approach. Proficiency with CRM tools, MS Office, and data-driven sales reporting and forecasting. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with engineering and operations teams. Self-directed work style, strong organizational skills, and capacity to manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in air distribution, ductwork, dampers, or related building products is highly beneficial. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
