Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with 10+ years of experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM and should be capable of analyzing business requirements and delivering reliable technical solutions in a mainframe environment. Key Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL mainframe applications supporting critical business processes. Design, develop, and optimize JCL jobs for batch processing and scheduling. Develop and maintain DB2 database programs, including SQL queries, data retrieval, performance tuning, and optimization. Develop and support CICS online programs for real-time transaction processing. Work with VSAM files for data storage, access, and file management. Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Perform application debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis. Optimize existing programs and batch processes for performance and reliability. Participate in application testing, deployment, and production support activities. Collaborate with business analysts, technical teams, and other stakeholders. Prepare technical documentation and support knowledge-transfer activities. Ensure developed solutions meet enterprise coding and quality standards.
Required Experience:
10+ years of experience in Mainframe development. Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.Strong SQL and database development experience. Experience with both batch and online transaction processing. Ability to understand business requirements and provide techno-functional solutions. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good communication and stakeholder collaboration skills. Preferred / Additional Skills Java Spring Boot Microservices Kafka Azure Full Stack Java
