About the role

About us: Temmen Insurance is a fast-growing independent agency based in Springfield. We help seniors, veterans, and families nationwide with Medicare, life insurance, and health coverage. We run our own marketing, so our agents spend their time talking to people who asked to hear from us. They don't have to cold-knock or buy aged leads. We're licensed in 26 states, and our life division is ready to scale.
The role: You'll build and lead our life insurance sales floor. You'll recruit, train, and coach a team of licensed phone agents to hit production targets, while keeping every call compliant and focused on the client. You report directly to the owner and own the life division's results: apps, placement, persistency, and agent development.
What you'll do: Lead the floor: Run daily huddles, set activity and production goals, and hold agents accountable to dials, talk time, contact rate, close rate, and placed premium. Coach on calls: Listen to recorded and live calls every week, give specific feedback, and sharpen scripts, rebuttals, and needs-based presentations. Recruit and onboard: Source, interview, and hire licensed agents. Guide new hires through licensing, carrier contracting, and a structured ramp plan. Own the numbers: Track KPIs in our dialer/CRM (Enroll Here, GoHigh Level). Spot issues like speed to lead, dispositions, and pipeline gaps, and fix them quickly. Protect the business: Enforce compliance, suitability, and replacement rules. Keep chargebacks low and persistency high with strong policy delivery and follow-up. Work with marketing: Give feedback on lead quality by source and campaign so we invest in what converts. Grow the book: Push cross-sell between life and Medicare and build referral habits across the team.
What we're looking for: 3+ years selling life insurance (final expense, term, whole life, IUL, or mortgage protection), preferably over the phone 2+ years leading a sales team, with a track record of growing producers and hitting team targets Active Missouri Life & Health license, or the ability to get one within 30 days. Non-resident licenses are a plus. Comfortable with dialers, CRMs, and data. You manage by the numbers, not by feel. High energy and a hands-on style. You lead from the floor, not from an office. High integrity, with a working knowledge of life insurance compliance and suitability standards Medicare/AEP experience is a plus

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
