About the role
The Channel Sales Manager grows 80/20's distribution network within an assigned region by strengthening distributor partnerships, expanding market reach, and driving profitable growth.Distribution is 80/20's primary route to market. This role works with distributor partners to grow the business by strengthening commercial capabilities, expanding market coverage, and improving execution. Success is measured by helping distributor partners win more business, reach more customers, and create sustainable growth for both organizations.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a regional channel plan that delivers sustainable revenue and gross profit growthStrengthen distributor partnerships through collaborative growth planning and ongoing business engagementWork with distributor partners to identify and develop opportunities early in the customer buying journeyExpand market reach by identifying new applications, industries, customer segments, and growth opportunities across the regionDevelop a strong understanding of target industries, customer applications, market trends, and competitive activity to identify emerging opportunitiesStrengthen distributor sales and technical capabilities through product training, application support, coaching, and performance developmentUse customer, partner, and market insights to prioritize opportunities and guide regional prioritiesDevelop growth plans that improve distributor performance and expand market coverageMaintain an accurate pipeline, forecast, and partner information to support effective planning and executionDevelop deep knowledge of the 80/20 product portfolio to help distributor partners identify opportunities, solve customer challenges, and create valueCollaborate across Sales and cross-functional teams to coordinate resources and deliver an exceptional customer and partner experienceShare market and partner insights that improve products, services, and commercial performanceRepresent 80/20 with professionalism, integrity, accountability, and a commitment to helping distributor partners and customers succeedChampion continuous improvement by identifying ideas that strengthen partnerships, improve execution, and accelerate business growthMeasures of SuccessAchieve or exceed revenue, gross profit, and growth objectivesStrengthen distributor capability and long-term business performanceIncrease the number and quality of opportunities developed with distributor partnersExpand market reach across targeted industries, applications, and customer segmentsImprove distributor performance through stronger commercial capability and executionMaintain accurate forecasts and strong CRM disciplineCollaborate effectively across the business to deliver an exceptional customer and partner experienceDrive sustainable channel growth through disciplined execution and sound business judgmentRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required5+ years of successful experience in channel sales, distribution management, business development, or B2B sales, preferably in industrial manufacturing, automation, engineered products, material handling, or related industriesDemonstrated success strengthening distributor partnerships and growing channel performanceProven ability to identify growth opportunities, develop business plans, and execute with disciplineStrong coaching, consultative selling, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skillsExperience using CRM systems, preferably SalesforceStrong analytical, organizational, and time management skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teamsWillingness to travel frequently (35-50%)Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving recordAll other duties as assignedPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or a related fieldExperience working with industrial distributors or manufacturer sales organizationsExperience selling engineered, configurable, or technical solutionsExperience supporting industrial manufacturing, automation, material handling, or related marketsKnowledge of industrial distribution, channel strategy, and partner developmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to travel frequently by automobile and commercial airlineAbility to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periodsAbility to occasionally lift up to 25 poundsAbility to safely work in manufacturing facilities and customer environments while following all applicable safety requirementsEqual Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
