Position: ADMINISTRATIVE/RECREATION ASSISTANT FLSA: Regular/Full-Time/Non-Exempt Salary Range: $29,120/Annually Department: Parks and Recreation Reports To: Parks and Recreation Director Deadline: Open until filled POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Director, provides a variety of administrative support functions and clerical work; assists the Parks and Recreation Department staff with administrative, clerical, and budgetary duties having department-wide impact with considerable leeway granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. Responsible for financial and specialized department records and interaction with key department or division personnel and other Town Departments concerning technical program requirements. Acts as a contact point for employees, citizens, and others; performs research, maintains department file systems, coordinates travel and training arrangements; prepares and processes purchase orders and related documents. Assists with the creation and execution of the department marketing plan and strategies.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid New Mexico Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
  • CPR and AED Certified preferred, or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment.
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in an administrative support position.
  • A combination of work experience, training and education may be substituted to meet the minimum qualifications.
