Accountant

Responsibilities: Record accounting activity through timely journal entries and maintain clear audit-ready support for each transaction. Reconcile general ledger balances on a recurring basis, research variances, and resolve outstanding items accurately. Contribute to month-end and year-end close efforts by preparing schedules, validating balances, and supporting reporting deadlines. Provide assistance across both accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows to help maintain smooth day-to-day operations. Use Microsoft Dynamics GP, including project-related accounting functionality, to monitor financial activity tied to projects and ensure proper coding. Review account activity for inconsistencies, investigate discrepancies, and communicate findings to appropriate stakeholders. Prepare financial data and supporting analysis to assist with routine reporting and management review. Follow established accounting controls, policies, and procedures to support compliance and financial accuracy. Participate in ongoing process enhancements and system optimization efforts that strengthen accounting efficiency and reporting quality. The salary range for this position is $28 to $33. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred. At least 2 years of accounting experience in a hands-on accounting environment. Required experience working in Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains).Strongly preferred background using Project Accounting or related project modules within Great Plains. Working knowledge of general ledger activity, journal entry preparation, reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Solid Microsoft Excel skills for organizing data, performing analysis, and supporting reconciliations. Strong attention to detail with the ability to stay organized and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
