Brooks Utility Products is seeking a highly motivated, self-sufficient Regional Sales Manager to oversee sales, strategy, and customer relationships within the Southeastern US states of Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.
Duties and Responsibilities: Lead all sales aspects with electric utilities assigned within the territory. Generate customer interest in Brooks’ products. Develop a growth strategy to increase sales in the region. Drive specification of Brooks products into utility material standards, approved manufacturer lists, and meter shop standards — the primary lever for durable share in this territory. Develop expert level product and category knowledge, be a true consultative partner to our customers. Resolve any customer issues that come up by providing world-class customer service. Manage and grow relationships with electrical distribution partners; align distributor stocking, quoting, and point-of-sale focus with utility demand creation. Build lasting, long-term customer and partner relationships. Supply information to customer service/inside sales to effectively serve your customers; customer service generates quotes and processes orders. Maintain a disciplined, current pipeline in CRM; forecast territory revenue accurately. Work with Brooks engineers and product managers to develop new products based upon customer need or request. Submit reports, data requests, and fulfill other assignments from management as needed in support of your territory. Travel to customers within the territory on a regular basis, to the Novi, MI head office occasionally, and to any industry events that impact your region. How Success Is Measured: Territory revenue growth versus annual quota. New utility standardizations and approved-product listings won. Sales pipeline fill rate and forecast accuracy in CRM.Qualification and
Competencies: Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering is required (Electrical Engineering Degree preferred)8+ Years experience in technical or industrial product sales. Experience selling to electric utilities (IOU, municipal, cooperative) or through electrical distribution channels strongly preferred; familiarity with utility standards, meter shops, and approved-product processes is a significant advantage. Demonstrated track-record of success in sales with 4+ years of quota attainment. Highly motivated and desire to be self-sufficient while focusing on achieving results. Strong communication skills – listens well, speaks well, writes well. Accountable, possessing an ability to follow through on tasks, assignments, and requests from customers and teammates. Customer service-focused mentality Analytical, using data to objectively assess your own performance, to serve customers, to ascertain customer buying trends, and to guide your own growth strategy. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, and either Teams or Zoom, and with a CRM platform (Salesforce, Dynamics, or similar).
Travel: Able to travel approximately 25% for overnight travel and up to 50% total when including same-day drive markets. Very rare weekend travel may be required to attend meter schools and other events that begin on Mondays.
