Payroll & Administrative Clerk Kings Mountain, NC | $22–$24 per hour, depending on experience Do you have at least 3 years of hands-on payroll experience and a track record of handling sensitive employee and company information with complete confidentiality? Our client is looking for a dependable Payroll & Administrative Clerk with a minimum of 3 years’ payroll experience to manage weekly hourly payroll and provide support across benefits, timekeeping, recruiting, onboarding, and general administration. Because this role handles confidential payroll, personnel, and business information every day, integrity, discretion, professionalism, and strict confidentiality are essential.
The Role: You’ll be responsible for keeping payroll and employee records accurate while providing professional support to employees and management.
Your responsibilities will include: Processing weekly hourly payroll accurately and on time Resolving payroll and timekeeping discrepancies Tracking attendance, PTO, and floating holidays Supporting employee benefits administration Responding professionally to payroll, benefits, attendance, and timekeeping questions Maintaining confidential personnel, employment, and training records Coordinating with the HR consultant on recruiting, Workers’ Compensation, and other HR matters Coordinating the scheduling of interviews and providing hiring managers appropriate information Supporting background checks, drug screening, and new-hire onboarding Maintaining safety documentation, including Safety Data Sheets Providing administrative support to Production and Accounting when needed What We’re Looking For! You’ll need: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on payroll experience – this is an essential requirement Administrative experience; Paycor experience preferred High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred Strong Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Share Point skills Excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping skills Strong organization, communication, and follow-through Ability to work independently and meet weekly deadlinesA proven ability to handle highly confidential information with integrity and sound judgmentA consistent professional and respectful approach when dealing with employees at all levels Spanish-language skills are helpful but not required This position requires someone who can be relied upon to protect confidential information, exercise good judgment, and always represent the business professionally.
