About the role
- Proactively identify and research new target companies, projects, and business opportunities
- Find and engage key decision-makers and stakeholders
- Conduct consistent cold calling and outbound prospecting through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels
- Build targeted prospect lists and develop new relationships from the ground upConduct initial discovery conversations to understand business needs, projects, timing, stakeholders, and potential fit
- Qualify prospects and convert initial conversations into qualified meetings and opportunities for Sales
- Maintain consistent follow-up throughout longer, project-based sales cycles
- Manage prospecting activity, contacts, follow-ups, and qualification information within the CRMRespond to and qualify inbound opportunities as needed
- Provide a clear, well-documented handoff of qualified opportunities to the Sales team
- 3+ years of B2B outbound sales, business development, prospecting, or lead-generation experience
- Proven experience with cold calling and generating net-new business opportunities
- Comfortable independently researching target accounts and identifying appropriate decision-makers
- Experience generating meetings and qualified opportunities rather than relying primarily on inbound leads
- Experience within industrial automation, engineering, building systems, construction, capital equipment, manufacturing, or another technical/project-based B2B environment strongly preferred
- Comfortable learning sophisticated technical products and communicating effectively with prospective customers
- Strong communication, persistence, organization, and follow-through
- Experience using CRM and sales-prospecting tools
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownership of pipeline-generation activity
- Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday in Hackensack, NJMust be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
