Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 403(b) & More We are partnering with a well-established nonprofit organization in New York City seeking a Bilingual SNAP Specialist (Russian/English) to join its Benefits Access team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about community outreach, social services, and helping underserved populations access essential government benefits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct community outreach to educate individuals and families about SNAP benefits and eligibility. Assist clients with SNAP applications, recertifications, and required documentation. Provide ongoing case management, advocacy, and application support. Collaborate with community organizations and partner agencies to expand access to services. Connect eligible clients with additional assistance programs and resources. Maintain accurate client records and documentation using Salesforce and other database systems. Participate in community outreach events throughout NYC.
QUALIFICATIONS: Fluency in Russian and English is REQUIRED.High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred. Background in Human Services, Public Health, Public Administration, or a related field. Previous experience working with low-income or underserved communities preferred. Knowledge of SNAP and other government assistance programs is a plus. Strong communication, organizational, computer, and customer service skills. Ability and willingness to travel throughout NYC's five boroughs as needed.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: This is a hybrid position requiring 3–4 days on-site, primarily in Forest Hills, Queens, with additional work in Manhattan and other NYC locations as needed.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Annual salary of $45,000, plus a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, pre-tax commuter benefits, FSA, 403(b), and paid holidays.
